Al-Yahya, Barrot Co-Chair GCC-French Ministerial Meeting In NY


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW YORK, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- The foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries and France convened a meeting on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
Kuwait's Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, in his capacity as president of the GCC ministerial council, co-chaired the meeting with Jean-Noel Barrot - the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
The meeting, attended by GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi, reviewed the progress of the GCC-French partnership in all areas as well as several regional and international issues of common concern.
Both sides expressed a shared desire to strengthen the strategic GCC-French dialogue and the deep-rooted historical friendly relations in the framework of the strategic partnership.
They agreed to expand cooperation in such areas as economy, investment culture, energy and development, and work together for addressing the regional challenges and promoting peace. (end)
