Another Blackout At Zaporizhzhia NPP

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Energy announced this on Telegram .

“At 16:56 today, the sole transmission line through which ZNPP received power from Ukraine's energy grid was disconnected. The plant has switched to emergency diesel generators to meet its internal power needs. This is a serious violation of the conditions for normal operation,” the statement reads.

The ministry noted that throughout the entire period of Russian occupation, the Zaporizhzhia plant has repeatedly experienced blackouts due to shelling and damage to energy infrastructure. It emphasized that this latest incident once again proves that Russian occupation remains the primary threat to the safe operation of the facility.

“The Ministry of Energy calls on the international community to take decisive action. Pressure on Russia must be intensified to ensure the swift demilitarization and de-occupation of the plant. Restoring ZNPP to full and legitimate Ukrainian control is the only path to reestablishing nuclear safety in the region,” the ministry stated.

As previously reported, the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) adopted a resolution titled“Nuclear Safety, Physical Nuclear Security, and Safeguards in Ukraine,” which calls on Russia to immediately withdraw from the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
