(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ICAO honors Kuwait's progress

WASHINGTON, Sept 23 (KUNA) -- The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) honored Kuwait on Tuesday, in recognition of the progress it has made in establishing an effective civil aviation security monitoring system.
This came during the 42nd General Assembly meetings of the (ICAO), held from September 23 to October 3 in Montreal, Canada, with the participation of 193 countries and 69 international and regional organizations.
In a statement to KUNA, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Chief Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Hamoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah extended congratulations on this achievement to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and to the Kuwaiti people.
This international recognition, with Kuwait receiving the Council President Certificate, represents achievement for Kuwait International Airport, which has exceeded the international standards adopted by ICAO, Sheikh Humoud Al-Sabah noted.
He emphasized Kuwait's commitment to supporting efforts aimed at developing the aviation sector in a way that serves the interests of the international community and enhances the safety, security, and sustainability of civil aviation. (end)
