Arunachal Pradesh Gets Rs 5,100 Cr Development Projects In Hydropower, Connectivity & Tourism


(MENAFN- KNN India) Itanagar, Sep 23 (KNN) Development projects worth over Rs 5,100 crore were inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh on Monday.

The initiatives span power, connectivity, tourism, health, and infrastructure.

Among the key projects, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for two hydropower ventures-the 240 MW Heo Hydroelectric Project and the 186 MW Tato-I Project-together valued at over Rs 3,700 crore. Both will be developed in the Siyom sub-basin, aimed at harnessing the state's hydroelectric potential.

He also initiated work on a modern convention centre in Tawang, situated at 9,820 feet, designed to host international conferences and cultural events, and launched infrastructure projects worth Rs 1,290 crore covering connectivity, health, fire safety, and women's hostels.

Modi also underlined the government's focus on women's empowerment, mentioning initiatives such as the Lakhpati Didi scheme and new hostels for working women.

He added that local agricultural produce-kiwi, oranges, cardamom, and pineapples-was gaining new recognition under central schemes such as PM-Kisan.

He urged citizens to adopt 'Swadeshi' by buying and promoting Indian-made goods, linking it to the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047.
