Petra, Sept. 22 (Petra) – The Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA), in collaboration with the Al Oun for Alzheimer's Patient Care Association, illuminated the famous Al-Khazneh monument in purple, coinciding with the observance of World Alzheimer's Day on September 21.
The initiative conveys a humanitarian message of solidarity with millions of people affected by Alzheimer's worldwide, as well as with their families and caregivers, who face significant psychological, social, and financial challenges in caring for their loved ones.
PDTRA highlighted that Jordan's participation in this global event aligns with international efforts led by specialized organizations, notably the Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI), to raise public awareness of the disease, promote early diagnosis, and break the social stigma associated with dementia.
The initiative underscores a universal humanitarian message: empathy, knowledge, and support are essential pillars in addressing this growing health and social challenge.
