Ukraine Proposes Expanding Grain From Ukraine Program To More African Countries


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to the Ministry of Economy's press service , Bashlyk expressed gratitude to WFP representatives for their support in implementing President Volodymyr Zelensky's humanitarian initiative Grain from Ukraine, as well as for assistance in demining agricultural land. During the meeting, both sides discussed the possibility of expanding the program to additional African countries that have not yet joined.

The Deputy Minister also invited WFP representatives to participate in the upcoming International Food Security Summit“Food from Ukraine”, scheduled for November 19 in Kyiv.

Launched in 2022, Grain from Ukraine is an international humanitarian program aimed at delivering Ukrainian food supplies to the most vulnerable countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. The initiative is supported financially by donor nations and coordinated with the UN World Food Programme.

So far, 18 countries have received food aid through the program. Despite its name, the initiative includes not only grain but also other essential food products such as oil and flour
