Amman, Sept. 22 (Petra) – Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi and UN Women Representative to Jordan Nicolas Burnait on Monday agreed to launch a media cooperation project targeting women MPs and the legislature's General Secretariat, in partnership with the Al Rai Center for Studies.
Safadi said Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, is pursuing comprehensive modernization to expand participation in decision-making, with women and youth at its core.
Burnait said the UN is keen on fostering cooperation with the legislature to achieve its goals and vision, stressing the importance of mobilizing resources for effective partnership.
Al Rai Editor-in-Chief Khaled Shogran and General Manager Hiam Karaki said the Foundation has the capacity to support the project's objectives.
The "Enhancing Media Visibility and Building a Media Policy for the House of Representatives" project aims to empower female MPs, enhance their presence in media, and develop a gender-sensitive media policy.
