The department has also fixed hunting-related fees. An annual license fee of Rs. 1,500 has been set for the use of hunting dogs in duck hunting, while hunters using specialized duck-hunting guns will be charged Rs. 500 per day.

Under the new regulations, hunting before sunrise and after sunset has also been banned. Officials said these measures aim to ensure the protection of rare and aquatic bird species across the province.

It is worth mentioning that just a day earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa introduced a wildlife restoration project , the first of its kind in Pakistan.

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information, Barrister Dr. Saif, said the initiative has released blackbucks and chinkaras into the forests of Kohat. Drone technology is being used for wildlife monitoring, and the project is expected to become a milestone in restoring ecological balance.
