Charlie Kirk Assassination: 95 Democrats Vote In Favour As House Passes Resolution To Honour Conservative Activist
The chamber, with a Republican majority, voted 310-58 to approve the measure to commemorate Kirk's life and legacy while also denouncing political violence, including his assassination.
The votes of Democrats were split in the House. Some have raised concerns about Kirk's previous comments on transgender rights and other sensitive issues, while others argued they should avoid a political trap by voting against a measure that condemns violence.

95 Democrats joined 215 Republicans in voting for the resolution, with 58 opposing it and 38 voting "present."
Right-wing activist Kirk's murder last week, while addressing a college audience in Utah, has caused a political storm across the US, with President Donald Trump and his allies promising a crackdown on left-wing groups they see as trying to undermine national unity.
President Trump has also weighed in on the debate, describing the left as the primary source of political unrest in the US.
“When you look at the agitators – you look at the scum that speaks so badly of our country, the American flag burnings all over the place – that's the left, not the right,” Trump told reporters on Sunday.“When you look at the problems, the problem is on the left. It's not on the right.”
