Huawei Reveals Most Advanced Computer Network
(MENAFN) Chinese technology conglomerate Huawei on Thursday presented what it called the globe’s most powerful "supernode" computing cluster, asserting that the system provides leading-edge processing capacity without relying on Nvidia’s sophisticated chips, according to a news agency.
Huawei explained that the cluster was constructed using domestic semiconductor production methods to reinforce China’s self-sufficiency in artificial intelligence processing.
“Huawei is seeking to build a ‘supernode + cluster’ computing solution using chip manufacturing processes available in China to meet the growing compute needs,” Deputy Chairman Xu Zhijun stated during a conference in Shanghai.
Xu further noted that the corporation will introduce new Ascend AI processors within the coming three years, beginning with the Ascend 950PR in the first quarter of 2026, in a rollout aligned with the most recent product releases from Nvidia and AMD.
Beijing has encouraged Chinese companies to refrain from purchasing Nvidia chips specifically tailored for China in order to comply with US export limitations, a directive that coincided with Huawei’s disclosure.
Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang remarked Wednesday that he was let down by Beijing’s decision.
“I’m patient about it, but they have larger agendas to work out between China and the United States.”
On Thursday, Chinese Foreign Ministry representative Lin Jian declared that Beijing rejects “discriminatory practices against specific countries on economic, trade, and technological issues,” as reported by a state-operated news outlet.
