Kuwait Moi, Food Authority Bust Mishref Home Making Fake Food
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA))
KUWAIT, Sept 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ministry of Interior (MoI) said Friday that Hawally Security Directorate police officers arrested two men - an Arab and one Asian - after allegedly converting a rented house in Mishref into an illegal facility producing adulterated food.
Investigators found the suspects mixed oils with other substances and sold the blend as locally made ghee, falsified countries of origin on products, and unlawfully sold various consumer goods, the ministry said in a press statement.
The raid, conducted with the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN), Kuwait Municipality, and other agencies, led to the site being sealed, goods seized, and the suspects referred to the competent authorities.
PAFN cited violations including operating without a health license, poor hygiene, and unauthorized repackaging; the Municipality cited misuse of the property.
The ministry said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to protect public health and curb commercial fraud. (end)
