Postal Sector: Brazil, Saudi Arabia To Cooperate


(MENAFN- Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA)) São Paulo – Brazil and Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding through which they will promote the exchange of experiences, develop new operational practices, and align on regulatory matters, among other areas, in the postal sector. The signing took place at the 28th Universal Postal Congress, the main forum for debate of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The news about the agreement was published by Brazil's Ministry of Communications on Wednesday (10). The document was signed by the ministry's Executive Secretary, Sônia Faustino, and Saudi Arabia's Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Ruhmaih Bin Muhmmad Al-Rumaih.

The organization that hosts the congress brings together 192 countries to define global policies and strategies for the sector. The meeting began on Monday (8) and will run until the 19th. At the event, the global postal strategy for 2026–2029 will be determined. The UPU serves as a forum for establishing policies and standards that regulate the international exchange of mail and advocates for democratic access to postal services.
