Anantnag- Police in Anantnag have registered an FIR against a local hotel for violating key provisions of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, after it was found to have concealed the stay of two foreign nationals.
The action followed routine inspections carried out by a police team from Police Station Pahalgam in the Rafting Point area, where hotels and guest accommodations were checked for compliance with legal and security protocols. During the inspection, officials discovered that Hotel Golden Heritage, located at Rafting Point, Yenner, had accommodated two citizens of Thailand. However, the hotel management had failed to report their stay through the mandatory online Form C-required for the registration and reporting of foreign guests.
Police said the hotel had deliberately concealed the presence of the foreign visitors, constituting a clear violation of Sections 8 and 23(b) of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, which makes timely and accurate reporting of foreign nationals compulsory for all accommodation establishments. Authorities noted that such violations pose a significant risk to public safety and overall security.
ADVERTISEMENTFollowing the findings, FIR No. 79/2025 was registered against the hotel management at Police Station Pahalgam. An investigation into the matter is currently underway.
The police have reiterated their commitment to strict enforcement of security and legal norms, urging all hotels, lodges, and guesthouses to comply fully with reporting procedures to avoid punitive action.
