Teen Eagle Scout Adam Granot Earns National College Board Recognition For Academic Excellence
At just 15 years old, Adam Granot of Dunedin, Florida, has earned national distinction as a recipient of the College Board's National Recognition Program Award , an honor highlighting high-achieving students whose dedication and performance set them apart.
Adam is no stranger to taking on challenges. A student at Clearwater Academy International , he is pursuing a dual-enrollment path , balancing both high school and college coursework simultaneously. Already, he has completed ten college courses with perfect scores and is on pace to receive his Associate of Arts (AA) degree by this summer.
But Adam's success story extends far beyond the classroom. A dedicated Eagle Scout with Scouting America Troop 313 , he achieved the organization's highest rank-an honor reached by only about 4% of Scouts-earlier this year at the age of 15. Along the way, he earned an impressive 66 merit badges , more than triple the 21 required for Eagle rank. His Scouting journey has also included serving as Senior Patrol Leader at age 14, leading his troop, and completing National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) , which sharpened his ability to manage projects and teams.
Adam credits these Scouting experiences as vital preparation for his academic achievements.
“When I was doing my Eagle Scout project, I had to learn how to prepare every step ahead of time,” Adam explained.“Working on merit badges also required me to plan out tasks, stay on deadlines, and follow through to completion. Those skills have been just as important in finishing my courses successfully.”
For his family, the recognition represents more than just academic performance-it reflects the values Adam lives by every day.
“Adam has always been incredibly focused,” said his father, Barak Granot .“But what stands out is how he applies lessons from Scouting-discipline, planning, leadership-into every part of his life, including his academics. That combination of character and drive is what makes this award so meaningful.”
With the College Board's recognition, Adam joins a distinguished group of students nationwide whose achievements are opening doors to universities and scholarship opportunities. His story illustrates how academic excellence, when coupled with leadership and service, can shape not only a promising future but also set an example for peers and younger Scouts who look up to him.
