Ukraine Responds To Slovak FM Statement On Drones In Poland, Urges Not To Seek Excuses For Russia
Tykhyi noted that the massive crossing of the Polish border by Russian drones could not have been accidental - it was a deliberate escalation on the part of Russia, and this is how it is characterized in Poland and other partner countries.
“We urge the Slovak side not to absolve Moscow of responsibility with inappropriate doubts and to recognize reality as it is, not as one 'would like to believe'. This is the reality of Russian aggression, which threatens all of Europe and which Putin is already trying to extend beyond Ukraine,” Tykhyi said.
He added that every competent European government should now be thinking about how to work with Ukraine to stop Russia and end the war, rather than how to justify Russia's escalation.
In this context, the Foreign Ministry spokesman reiterated that realistic steps to end the war require increased consolidated pressure on Moscow, which refuses to make peace, a complete cut-off of funding for the war for the Russian Federation, the strengthening of Ukraine, and cooperation between Ukraine and its partners on air defense capabilities to shoot down Russian drones and missiles.

As reported, Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár called the fall of Russian drones in Poland an escalation and expressed hope that“these drones should have ended up on Ukrainian territory.”
