Malaysian PM Urges For Establishing Ethical Standards To Tackle Corruption, Injustice

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 (KUNA) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Thursday stressed the need to establish ethical standards to save the world from corruption, chaos, and injustice following recent Israeli occupation airstrikes on the Qatari capital, Doha.
"The world, in simpler terms, is in turmoil. We are facing horrific events, including bombings, wars, and blatant displays of arrogance that are causing catastrophe and atrocities in entire regions, the latest of which is what is happening in Gaza and, in recent days, Qatar, while the world, including the Islamic world, stands helpless," Ibrahim said in a speech he delivered at the 2025 Global Islamic Finance Awards in Kuala Lumpur.
The Malaysian prime minister noted that the duty is not limited to taking firm positions against Zionist aggression, colonialism, and its blatant violations of international law, but also includes establishing ethical standards and purging societies of corruption, chaos, and injustice.
The Global Islamic Finance Awards, established by Edbiz UK in 2011, is a leading initiative honoring the achievements of individuals, institutions, and governments in promoting Islamic finance and ensuring its commitment to social responsibility. (end)
