US Assures China It Harbors No Hostile Intentions Toward The Nation

WASHINGTON, Sept 10 (KUNA) -- The United States of America has assured the Asian giant China that is not adopting hostile policies against Beijing.
The Pentagon said on Wednesday that US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth spoke with China's Minister of National Defense, Admiral Dong Jun, making clear that the United States does not seek conflict with China nor it is pursuing regime change or strangulation of the Asian nation.
At the same time, however, he forthrightly relayed that the US has vital interests in the Asia-Pacific, the priority theater, and will resolutely protect those interests.
Overall, the Secretary and the Chinese Minister exchanged views in a candid and constructive manner. They agreed to hold further discussions.
The report came against backdrop of a recent statement by President Donald Trump saying India, Russia seem to have been "lost" to China. The remarks came after leaders of the three regional powers held a summit meeting and affirmed desire to establish a new world order.
"Looks like we've lost India and Russia to deepest, darkest, China. May they have a long and prosperous future together!" Trump wrote in a social media post accompanying a photo of the three leaders together at the summit, held in China.
There have diverse thorns in the US-China ties, namely with respect of the tariffs' issue and US support for Taiwan. (end)
