Students from Türkiye in US gain highest awards at Global Masterminds Olympiad


(MENAFN) Over seven-hundreds students from around the globe participated in the Olympiad. The Olympiad encourages practicable learning and problem-solving in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) topics.

A first-year high school pupil from North Haven, Connecticut, Selim Yavuz, got 2 first-place awards in mathematics as well as research for his inquiry on the impacts on kids’ health of screen addiction.

Yavuz informed a news agency: “Today, I received the reward for my intensive and determined efforts. I am very happy,” he also mentioned that he prepared for 6 months for the championship.

Also from the Northeastern state of Connecticut, Batuhan Alp Karaalp, achieved second place in invention for his solar-powered UV light sterilization device aimed to stop the sprawl of germs in postbox.

The fifteen-year-old stated that he wishes to further improve the project and ultimately start a business.
