Ogilvy Vietnam CEO Soames Hines Steps Down, New Mds Named
Following his departure, TraMy Nguyen (pictured, left) will be promoted to managing director of Ogilvy Vietnam, and Linh Nguyen (pictured, right) will continue as managing director of T&A Ogilvy and Ogilvy One in Vietnam. Both TraMy and Linh will, together, shape the future of Ogilvy's businesses in Vietnam, it said.
Having spent 27 years with Ogilvy, Hines leaves an indelible mark on the company. Among his many career highlights, Soames has held agency CEO roles with Ogilvy and JWT in China; global client management roles with JWT in London (Unilever & Diageo), and client CMO roles with It (Europe) & Pizza Hut (Vietnam).
Prior to taking over the CEO role at Ogilvy Vietnam in 2020, Soames spent the previous 12 years based in Ogilvy's Regional HQ in Hong Kong, managing a portfolio of global clients including Yum Brands (KFC & Pizza Hut), Danone, Mondelez, Kimberly-Clark, and Nestle.
“Hines is a true Ogilvy giant, embodying the spirit and values that define our agency,” said Kent Wertime, co-CEO of Ogilvy Asia Pacific.“His warmth, sharp intellect, and unwavering commitment to clients have left a profound impact on our people and our business. We are incredibly grateful for his immense contributions and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.”
TraMy Nguyen and Linh Nguyen both joined Ogilvy Vietnam 15 years ago and have consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of the evolving communications landscape, said Ogilvy.
Effective November 1, 2025, TraMy Nguyen will assume her new role as managing director of Ogilvy Vietnam. She has been instrumental in leading some of Ogilvy's largest client relationships, and her expertise in integrating creativity, insight, and technology has driven significant impact for both homegrown and global brands.
Linh Nguyen will continue in her leadership roles as managing director of T&A Ogilvy and Ogilvy One in Vietnam. She has been the driving force behind the growth of T&A Ogilvy since its acquisition, and its innovation track record.
Her passion for creator marketing and her ability to deliver data-driven solutions has positioned T&A Ogilvy as a future-facing business. Earlier this year, she also took on the additional responsibility of leading Ogilvy One in Vietnam, further solidifying her role in delivering connected solutions across the group's capabilities.
Going forward, TraMy Nguyen will report to Kunal Jeswani, CEO, Ogilvy ASEAN. Linh Nguyen will continue to report to Dieu Cam Nguyen, general director, T&A Ogilvy Vietnam and will now also report to Jeswani.
“The elevation of TraMy and Linh fills me with immense pride. They are truly exceptional leaders who have grown tremendously within our system over the past 15 years, consistently demonstrating their passion for the business, driving innovation for our clients and nurturing our next generation of talent,” said Jeswani.“Their leadership will drive the next phase of growth and transformation for Ogilvy in Vietnam. I am incredibly excited to see what they will achieve together.”
