Amir Receives Phone Call From US President

Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received a phone call today from President of the United States of America HE President Donald Trump.

During the call, HE the US President affirmed his solidarity with the State of Qatar and his strong condemnation of the attack on its sovereignty, noting that diplomatic solutions are sufficient to resolve outstanding issues in the region.

His Excellency the US President praised the tireless mediation efforts of HH the Amir and the State of Qatar, emphasising their key role in achieving peace in the region.

He also emphasised that the State of Qatar is a reliable strategic ally of the United States of America, calling on HH the Amir to continue Qatar's mediation efforts to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

For his part, HH the Amir affirmed that the State of Qatar condemns and denounces in the strongest terms this reckless, criminal attack, considering it a flagrant violation of its sovereignty and security and a clear breach of the rules and principles of international law.

His Highness held the Israeli entity responsible for its repercussions, which threaten the security and stability of the region and obstruct efforts to de-escalate and reach sustainable diplomatic solutions.

His Highness called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities regarding these rogue actions and hold those involved accountable, expressing his hope that the United States would support this just approach.

In this context, HH the Amir affirmed that the State of Qatar will take all necessary measures to protect its security and preserve its sovereignty, and will continue its constructive approach of standing with its brothers and friends and championing just humanitarian causes, thus consolidating the foundations of international peace and security.
