Qatar Amir, UAE President Discuss Regional Developments, Peace Efforts


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Doha, Sep 10 (KUNA) -- Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan on the deep ties between both countries and ways to enhance cooperation.
The meeting, held Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan in Doha, also touched on recent regional developments and ongoing efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability that would benefit the region.
According to a statement by the Amiri Diwan, the Amir welcomed the UAE President and accompanying delegation, saying the visit reflects the strength and depth of bilateral relations.
For his part, President Sheikh Mohammad reaffirmed the UAE's full solidarity with Qatar and its support for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its people.
He further stressed that Israeli aggression constitutes a violation of Qatar's sovereignty and breaches international laws and norms, undermining regional peace, security, and opportunities for sustainable stability.
In this context, the Qatari Amir expressed deep appreciation for the UAE President's sincere sentiments and his country's steadfast position in support of Qatar and its people.
The two leaders also exchanged views on current regional and international developments of common concern, particularly the ongoing negotiations aimed at securing a ceasefire in Gaza Strip.
Both sides emphasized the importance of advancing dialogue and diplomatic solutions as the optimal path to resolving regional crises and preserving both regional and international security.
Following the meeting, the Amir of Qatar and the UAE President held a bilateral session to exchange views on a number of issues of mutual interest. (end)
