MFA Condemned Israel's Strike On Qatari Territory

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) This is stated in a statement by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Ukrinform reports.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine considers the strike on September 9 on the capital of the State of Qatar, Doha, on a densely populated area where, in particular, foreign diplomatic missions are located, unacceptable. The strike on the territory of a state that is mediating peace talks on the settlement in the Gaza Strip is a gross violation of international law and runs counter to the efforts of the international community to de-escalate the situation in the region," the Foreign Ministry said.

The ministry expressed solidarity with the government and people of Qatar and stressed the inadmissibility of violating its sovereignty.

The Foreign Ministry noted that Ukraine supports Qatar's efforts to achieve a sustainable ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and resolve the situation through diplomatic means.

“We are convinced of the need for all parties to refrain from actions that could negatively affect the mediation efforts of the State of Qatar and lead to a further deterioration of the security situation in the region. We call on all parties to immediately stop the violence and return to the negotiation process,” the statement said.

As reported by Ukrinform, on September 9, Israel carried out a strike against the Hamas leadership in Qata . The Qatari leadership condemned the attack, stressing that it would not tolerate“Israel's reckless and irresponsible behavior.”
