Arab League, Russia Strengthen Partnership Ahead Of Summit On Palestinian Cause


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Sept 9 (KUNA) -- The Arab League emphasized Tuesday, the importance of strengthening partnerships with Russia to advance Arab causes, particularly highlighting the Palestinian issue as the foremost priority for cooperation and shared regional efforts.
The League's General Secretariat explained in a statement that discussions between Assistant Secretary-General for International Political Affairs Dr. Khaled Manzlawy and Russian Ambassador to Cairo Georgy Borisenko focused heavily on enhancing cooperation across mutual political concerns.
Manzlawy stated that Russia's positions and initiatives on the global political stage, especially regarding Arab causes, especially the Palestinian issue, demonstrate Moscow's increasing commitment to strengthening and deepening partnerships with the broader Arab world.
He further affirmed the importance of continuing efforts to reinforce cooperative mechanisms with Russia, expressing hope that the upcoming summit would produce ambitious, effective outcomes capable of fulfilling aspirations on both Arab and Russian sides together.
The statement clarified that the meeting comes within preparations for the first Arab-Russian Summit scheduled for mid-October, alongside the seventh Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum, which is expected to convene officially on the thirteenth of October. (end)
