Sixth Int'l Real Estate Exhibition Kicks Off In Irbil

IRBIL, Sept 9 (KUNA) -- The sixth international real estate investment exhibition kicked off Tuesday in Irbil, with the participation of around 280 local and international companies representing 16 countries.
The four-day exhibition was inaugurated by Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani.
Speaking to KUNA, exhibition supervisor Herdi Salam described it as one of the largest real estate investment events in Iraq, aimed at attracting foreign investors and facilitating direct sales opportunities for property buyers.
The event also provides a platform for job seekers to submit their CVs to participating companies, in line with the investment authority's policy requiring 75 percent of jobs in such projects to go to citizens.
Companies from Turkiye, Iran, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, China, Germany, Italy, Spain, and other countries are taking part.
Coinciding with the event, a high-level US economic and trade delegation, representing 30 major companies and led by the American Chamber of Commerce, is visiting Irbil to explore new investment opportunities and strengthen economic ties with the region of Kurdistan.
According to the Kurdistan's Ministry of Trade and Industry, around 178 American companies are currently registered and operating in the region. (end)
