Malaysia, Australia Condemn Israeli Occupation Strike On Qatar

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 (KUNA) -- Malaysia and Australia on Wednesday strongly condemned the Israeli occupation airstrike on a residential building in the Qatari capital, Doha, on Tuesday, stressing that this action constitutes a violation of Qatar's sovereignty and poses a threat to international peace and security.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said in a press statement that "targeting Qatar, a country that plays a pivotal role in mediation and dialogue in the Middle East, reveals the Israeli occupation's complete contempt for peace and diplomacy."
Ibrahim stressed that such an attack is "indefensible and unacceptable," describing it as "a reckless act of aggression that represents a flagrant violation of Qatar's sovereignty, recklessly endangers the lives of civilians, and threatens to ignite an already fragile region."
In turn, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the Israeli airstrike targeting the leadership of the Palestinian Hamas movement in Doha yesterday, saying it "violates Qatar's sovereignty and threatens the ceasefire."
Yesterday, the Israeli occupation launched an air strike on Doha, targeting residential headquarters housing a number of leaders of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas movement, in an aggressive act that sparked widespread Arab and international condemnation and solidarity with the State of Qatar.
