Senegal’s President Announces Cabinet Overhaul

(MENAFN) Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye revealed a revamped cabinet on Saturday, featuring 26 ministers and six state secretaries. The announcement confirmed Ousmane Sonko’s continuation as prime minister, while bringing changes to key ministries, including interior and justice.

Mouhamadou Bamba Cisse was appointed as the new minister of interior and public security, taking over from Jean Baptiste Tine. The justice ministry saw Yacine Fall replace Ousmane Diagne. Meanwhile, Cheikh Niang, a first-time cabinet member, assumed the role of foreign affairs minister, previously held by Yacine Fall.

In labor, Olivier Boucal stepped in for Abbas Fall, who recently secured the mayoral position in Dakar.

Commenting on the reshuffle, Prime Minister Sonko told reporters, "not a government of leisure, but a government of commitment and struggle."
