Women's Activities Section At Awqaf Ministry Delivers Extensive Summer Programmes
Doha, Qatar: As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen community partnership and promote social engagement, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, through its Women's Activities Section, implemented a wide range of summer programs targeting diverse segments of society.
The Women's Section partnered with multiple institutions and centres, including government schools such as Umm Salama School, Sawda bint Zam'a School, Al-Khor Preparatory School, and Amina bint Wahb School. It also collaborated with summer women's centres and youth initiatives, including Howeity Centre, Girl Guides Summer Club, Ra'idat Programme, Barzan Girls Forum, Qatar Police Sports Federation, Al-Khor Girls Centre, Future Girls Centre, Abdullah Al Abdulghani Centre, Ahmad Bin Ali Quran Memorisation Centre, and Maryam bint Imran Center.
In addition, the Qur'an and its Sciences Section (Women) organised Qur'anic lessons and courses in institutions such as Social Rehabilitation Centre (Aman), the Social Protection Department (Juveniles), and Qatar University.
The Women's Section organised 16 sessions in government schools, which benefited more than 3,500 female students from grades 1 to 12, covering topics such as ablution, prayer, and moral-spiritual lessons during July and August.
At Howeity Centre, the“Girls' World Summer Programme” delivered values-based lessons on modesty, honesty, trust, and mindfulness, reaching 85 students. The Girl Guides Summer Camp featured nine interactive sessions that engaged 282 participants and focused on ethics and life skills.
As part of the Ra'idat Programme, a lecture titled,“Be Famous” benefited 60 girls aged 12 to 18, while the Barzan Girls Forum hosted nine sessions attended by 328 students, addressing values such as honesty, modesty, and accountability. The Qatar Police Sports Federation organised two skill-based lectures for 95 participants, and the Al-Khor Girls Centre hosted two sessions under the theme“Our Morals, Our Identity,” which benefited 49 students.
The Future Girls Centre held three sessions within the“Determination and Aspirations” programme, reaching 95 students, while the Abdullah Al Abdulghani Centre ran seven workshops from June 29 to July 15 that benefited 197 students and focused on values and skills. In addition, four Qur'an-themed sessions on selected stories were delivered to 65 students, while at the Maryam bint Imran Centre, eight sessions benefited 127 students.
