JUST Opens AHA-Accredited Cardiac Resuscitation Center

Ramtha, Sep. 1 (Petra) -- The Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) on Monday inaugurated a cardiac resuscitation center accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) at its Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, in a major step toward enhancing medical training and emergency response education in the Kingdom.
The center, the first of its kind at a Jordanian university, will provide specialized training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), emergency response, and life-saving skills for students, healthcare professionals, and individuals from non-medical fields.
During the opening ceremony, attended by faculty, students, and healthcare specialists, Vice President Dr. Bashir Khassawneh highlighted that the facility reflects JUST's commitment to advanced medical education and practical skills development. "This center represents a significant leap forward, positioning the university as a leader in emergency medical training while equipping students with life-saving competencies," he said.
Dr. Nihaya Al-Shiyab, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, emphasized that the center supports the university's mission of excellence and leadership, adding that its state-of-the-art equipment and simulation tools will ensure high-quality training experiences that meet global standards.
All training programs at the center are accredited by the AHA, as well as by the Higher Health Council, Jordan Medical Council, and Jordan Nursing Council, offering participants certifications recognized nationally and internationally.
The inauguration concluded with a tour of the new facility, showcasing advanced training technologies designed to improve educational outcomes and expand the university's role in community service and healthcare sector development.
