Simon is interested in the role of foreign correspondents in the context of emerging media, in particular, their protection in International Law, namely, International Human Rights Law, International Humanitarian Law and International Criminal Law.
Simon is a qualified to practice before the New South Wales Supreme Court in 2007. He has a Combined Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) in Law from the University of Sydney, a Graduate Diploma of Human Rights and Social Justice from the University of New South Wales and a Master of Advanced Studies in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. Before coming to do his Phd at UTS, Simon worked for the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, the United Nations Office for the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the ABC..
