Amman, Aug. 26 (Petra) – Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh on Monday inaugurated the Kingdom's first mobile compressed natural gas (CNG) station, implemented by Manaseer Group, as part of national efforts to diversify the energy mix and strengthen supply security.
Following a tour of the facility, Kharabsheh reviewed the refueling mechanism for vehicles and stressed the project's strategic role in reinforcing energy security, and promoting domestic resources.
He said the project aligns with the Royal Vision for Economic Modernization and the ministry's projects in various sectors, including industrial, domestic, health, and tourism, as well as national efforts to reduce carbon emissions. He added that the station will contribute to lowering energy bills and easing citizens' burdens.
General Manager of Manaseer Company Yasser Manaseer said the gas is supplied by the National Petroleum Company, concessionaire of the Risha Gas Field. He noted that 15 trucks currently operate on natural gas, with plans to expand to small vehicles.
He added that another station at the Risha field will begin operating before the end of the year with a capacity of up to 1.5 million cubic meters, supported by five additional mobile units.
