Kuwait Ambassador To Tunisia: Kuwait Keen To Support Its Athletes In All Forums

TUNIS, Aug 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to Tunisia Mansour Al-Omar on Monday confirmed the keenness of Kuwait to support its athlete taking part in all tournaments and forums around the world.
The remarks were made during Al-Omar's reception of the National Athletics Team Delegation for the 11th Arab Youth Athletics Championship which kicked off in Tunisia on August 23 and will end on August 27.
The Ambassador congratulated the athletes for their achievements during the championship wishing them more success for the upcoming events.
Head of the Delegation Abdul Aziz Manouh praised the warm welcome and the role of the Embassy in Tunisia and their daily follow-ups, as he presented a commemorative shield to Ambassador Al-Omar.
Al-Manouh also added that this championship is part of the strategic plan laid out to better the sports next generation as they go up against some of the best athletes in the Arab world in order to gain more experience for the upcoming international championships.
Following today's events, the athletes managed 4 medals, of which 2 gold thanks to Mohammad Al-Duaij who manage first place in the high jump events, setting a new personal best of 2.06 meters.
Asian Champion Abdul Latif Faisal won gold in the 800m race after an exceptional performance, while Abdul Rahman Al-Azmi manage bronze in the long jump, setting a new Kuwaiti record in the juniors category with 6.80 meters.
Kuwaiti Champion Mahdi Al-Sabbagh also achieved a bronze medal in the pole vault competition with a height of 4.20 meters. (end)
