Egyptian, Jordanian Military Top Brass Discuss Defense Coop

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Aug 24 (KUNA) -- Egypt's Minister of Defense Gen. Abdulmajid Saqr received Chief of Joint Staff of the Jordanian Army Maj.-Gen. Yousef Al-Huneiti on Sunday to discuss the latest developments of the situations in the Middle East and beyond.
The meeting, attended by senior military officers from both countries explored ways to promote defense cooperation, Spokesman of the Egyptian Armed Forces Brig. Staff Gharib Abdulhafez said in a press release.
Maj.-Gen. Al-Huneiti, leading a Jordanian military delegation on a visit to Egypt, also held talks with Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lt.-Gen. Ahmad Khalifa on defense cooperation.
He extolled Egypt's efforts aiming to strengthen security and stability in the region, the spokesman said, adding that both sides expressed desire to work together to enhance the military relations. (end)
