Russia Claims Control of Two Donetsk Villages

(MENAFN) Russia announced on Saturday that its military units had seized control of two Ukrainian villages located in the Donetsk region during the previous 24 hours.

In a formal declaration, the Defense Ministry stated that the settlements of Seredne and Kleban Byk were captured following actions conducted by the Southern and Western military contingents.

The ministry further reported that Russian air forces, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile units, and artillery targeted a Ukrainian "military-industrial complex facility" along with temporary bases of Ukrainian military units and "foreign fighters" in 143 separate locations.

Addressing Ukrainian aerial offensives, the ministry asserted that its air defense systems successfully intercepted four "guided aerial bombs" and 160 drones within the last week.

Kyiv has yet to issue a response regarding these assertions, and due to the ongoing hostilities, independent confirmation remains challenging.
