Lebanon Foils Attempt To Smuggle 20 Kg Of Captagon Drug To Kuwait


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, Aug 22 (KUNA) -- Lebanese security forces thwarted on Friday an attempt to smuggle 20 kilograms of Captagon drug to Kuwait via the Rafik Hariri International Airport.
In a press statement, Lebanon's Minister of the Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Al-Hajjar said that the airport security personnel discovered the seized drugs hidden inside corsets wrapped around the bodies of four Turkish passengers traveling to Kuwait.
The passengers were arrested and referred to prosecution for further investigations.
Al-Hajjar commended the efforts of the airport security personnel for thwarting this smuggling operation.
He emphasized his ministry's full commitment to combating drug smuggling through Lebanon. (end)
