UAE Condemns Attack On Humanitarian Aid Convoy Near Sudan's Darfur

UAE has strongly condemned the attack on a humanitarian convoy near Mellit, North Darfur, Sudan, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

The Emirates stressed the importance of protecting the safety and security of civilians and humanitarian and relief workers.

The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the need for the warring parties in Sudan to adhere to the provisions of the Jeddah Declaration to ensure the protection of civilians and secure humanitarian and relief aid corridors.

It also emphasised the need to prioritise the interests of the Sudanese people and protect them from the repercussions of war.

The UAE reiterated its firm position calling for an immediate ceasefire, facilitating unhindered access for urgent humanitarian aid, and working to support regional and international efforts aimed at ending the internal war.
