Türkiye’s EV Fleet Surges 120 Percent in One Year

(MENAFN) The number of electric vehicles (EVs) on Turkish roads surged 120.6% year-on-year, reaching 289,457 units by the end of July, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) reported.

This dramatic increase highlights a growing consumer shift towards electric mobility, fueled by expanding charging networks and the launch of Türkiye’s homegrown EV brand, Togg.

Out of Türkiye’s total 16.8 million cars in July, EVs now represent 1.7% of the entire vehicle fleet. This marks a striking rise from just 565 registered EVs in 2015 to over 250,000 by June 2025.

Hybrid vehicles have similarly experienced rapid expansion. The number of hybrids jumped from a mere 23 in 2011 to 222,328 by the end of 2023, climbing further to 391,269 in 2024 and reaching 556,995 by July this year. Hybrids now comprise 3.3% of Turkey’s car fleet, up from 2.4% at the close of 2024.
