Ukrainian General Staff Confirms Drone Strikes On Russia's Volgograd Oil Refinery
The attack by combat UAVs sparked severe fires at the refinery. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
The General Staff emphasized that the Volgograd oil refinery is the largest producer of petroleum products in Russia's Southern Federal District. It processes over 15 million tonnes of crude oil annually, accounting for 5.6% of the country's total refining capacity. The plant produces diesel, gasoline, and jet fuel-critical components for the logistics of the Russian Armed Forces.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian social media channels circulated reports that during the night of Thursday, August 14, the Volgograd oil refinery was targeted by a drone attack, resulting in a spill and a fire involving petroleum products
