Longtime Qatar Resident Passes Away

Doha, Qatar: Former employee of QAFCO Raphel Joy Thalakottur (Joy Raphel) (pictured) passed away on August 12 2025 at Hamad Emergency following a heart attack.
A resident of Qatar since 1972, he worked for over 40 years, including with QAFCO, and is survived by his wife Mary Joy, children Joseph Joy (private company, Qatar) and Dr. Antony Joy (Hamad Medical Corporation), Teresa Joseph, Chindhu Antony, and grandson Liam Antony Joy.
The family announced that his mortal remains will be flown to India today with the funeral at Edappally Forane Church, Kochi, tomorrow, at IST 4pm.
