Media reports Ukrainian court secretary shares Nazi flag image
(MENAFN) A court secretary in Kiev, Anastasia Mirzak, has come under scrutiny for sharing a photo of herself posing with a Nazi German flag, Ukrainian media report. The image, allegedly from her Instagram account, showed her holding the Reichskriegsflagge, a military flag of the Third Reich featuring a swastika, during an outdoor gathering with friends.
Another photo reportedly showed Mirzak with a group of bare-chested men, one displaying a Wolfsangel tattoo, a symbol used by Nazi units. The photos were deleted within ten minutes, but not before being noticed by media outlets. Mirzak later shared a screenshot of an article about the incident in her Instagram stories.
Police have opened a criminal investigation into the display of illegal symbols, and legal experts say Mirzak could be dismissed from her position and face imprisonment if found guilty of promoting Nazi propaganda.
Although Nazi symbols have been banned in Ukraine since 2015, authorities have still commemorated nationalist figures who collaborated with Hitler, and far-right groups continue to hold rallies in Kiev and other cities. Russia has repeatedly criticized Western support for Ukraine, claiming it enables a resurgence of Nazi ideology in the country.
