'Truly Overjoyed': 4 Indian, Pakistani Expats Win Dh510,000 In Big Ticket

Luck has struck for four Indian and Pakistani expats who bagged a combined prize of Dh510,000 in Big Ticket's The Big Win Contest .

The lion's share of the winnings went to Aslam Shaikh, a 42-year-old mobile shop owner from Andhra Pradesh, who took home Dh150,000. Shaikh, who has lived in Kuwait with his family since 2007, learned about Big Ticket through his friends only six months ago.

“I am truly overjoyed; words cannot describe how I feel," said the man who has been purchasing tickets regularly as part of a group of seven friends.

"I plan to share the prize equally with my group." Responding to a question about how he intends to spend the money, he said: "I will reinvest in my mobile shop. We have already purchased our next Big Ticket and will definitely continue trying our luck."

For Smiresh Athikkunnu Parambil Kunchan, a 40-year-old man from Kerala who won Dh120,000, the winning brought nothing but excitement and joy. The man works in aluminium fabrication and has lived in Al Ain for the past 17 years, while his family resides back home. He first heard about Big Ticket years ago and began participating, but stopped for a period of time.

Six months ago, he resumed buying tickets consistently with a group of 16 friends.“When I first received the call, I was overjoyed, and even now I still feel the same excitement when I think about that moment."

With his portion, he said he plans to support his family.

The third lucky winner was Pakistani mechanical engineer, Mohammad Sikandar Hayat, who went home with Dh100,000. The 55-year-old has been residing in Abu Dhabi for the past 28 years and has been purchasing Big Ticket entries for the last two decades, always on his own.

“Whenever I drop my family at the airport, I make it a point to buy one or two Big Ticket entries,” he said.

“You can imagine my surprise when, after 20 years of purchasing, I finally received the call that I had won! This is truly an incredible feeling, and I am overjoyed."

Regarding his plans, he said: "I plan to divide the prize equally among my four daughters.

The fourth winner was Indian Firoz Khan, who bagged Dh140,000 with an online ticket.

In August, Big Ticket is offering several major prizes, including a top reward of Dh15 million to be announced during the live draw on September 3. On the same night, six other participants will each win Dh100,000.

The month also includes The Big Win Contest, where customers who buy two or more cash tickets in one purchase between August 1 and 25 may be chosen to attend the live draw and win guaranteed prizes between Dh50,000 and Dh150,000. Four participants for this contest will be revealed on September 1.
