British Broadcaster Aerial Footage Highlights Extensive Gaza Destruction
(MENAFN) British broadcaster ITV News has released rare aerial footage highlighting the extensive devastation across the Gaza Strip, marking one of the first such views captured in months.
Broadcast on Monday, the video was filmed from a plane delivering humanitarian aid, providing a stark overview of the widespread ruin.
The visuals depict vast stretches of land utterly demolished, where once-thriving greenery has been reduced to dust. Among the ruins is the Al Wafa Centre for Elderly Care, now mostly flattened, alongside the surrounding residential areas.
With journalists barred from entering Gaza, this aerial footage offers one of the few available insights into the scale of destruction.
Despite mounting international demands for a ceasefire, Israel has maintained a relentless military campaign against Gaza since October 7, 2023. The offensive has resulted in the deaths of over 61,000 Palestinians, nearly half of whom are women and children. The conflict has devastated the region, pushing Gaza to the brink of famine.
In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Additionally, Israel faces a genocide lawsuit at the International Court of Justice over its actions in the enclave.
