Finnlines CEO commends China’s shipbuilding industry
(MENAFN) Thomas Doepel, CEO of Finnish shipping firm Finnlines, has commended China’s shipbuilding industry for its advanced technology, cost-effectiveness, and commitment to energy efficiency, calling for deeper maritime cooperation between China and Europe.
Speaking to Finnish business daily Kauppalehti, Doepel highlighted the company’s newest vessels constructed in China as a significant advancement, both for Finnlines and the global shipping sector.
“The introduction of these ships could halve emissions per transported unit,” Doepel stated, emphasizing that the vessels meet emerging environmental standards while strengthening Finnlines’ competitive edge.
He added that the success of these collaborations demonstrates the potential for mutually beneficial partnerships, blending Chinese industrial capabilities with European maritime expertise.
