VIDEO: Qatar's Defense Ministry Reveals Details On Military Operation During Iranian Missiles Interception

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Defense released on Monday a mini-documentary detailing the military operation that took place on June 23, 2025, in which the State of Qatar's air defense systems managed to successfully intercept missiles that were fired from Iran towards Al Udeid Air Base.

The Qatari Armed Forces had been on high alert since the escalation of tension in the region.

The country's armed forces, the MoD officials explained, had ramped-up their readiness with increased deployment of naval vessels and rapid response aircraft.

Aerial fighters had been on continuous patrols in the weeks prior to the event, the officials explained, noting that these patrols provided 24/7 air cover in case of any threats or intruding aircraft to ensure effective response.

Due to the developing situation in the region, air traffic over the country's airspace was temporarily suspended on orders issued by the relevant authorities in the Qatari Armed Forces in order to preserve the lives of those using Qatar's airspace.

The Qatari radar systems detected the first wave of missiles at 19:29 local time on June 23/6/2025, directed at the State of Qatar and the Al Udeid Air Base.

The officials detailed that, at the moment, they realised there was no room for error, and that the protection of the country's skies and the interception of all the missiles successfully was a must.

All missiles were intercepted except for one that managed to fall onto the Al Udeid Air Base, the officials said. The attack was considered officially over at 19:49 local time, on 23/6/2025.

Later in a joint press conference, the Qatari Armed Forces confirmed that the missile that fell inside the Al Udeid base had caused no casualties or material damage.

The Qatari Amiri Land Forces, the Military Police Forces, the Medical Services Command, the Central Fire Department, and the Anti-Weapon of Mass Destruction Defense Unit were all then instructed to head to the sites where the missile shrapnel had fallen.

A report from the Joint Operations about a fire was received and was promptly brought under control within 20 minutes.

The combat group force assigned the field engineering battalion to increase the number of specialized teams to deal with missile remains and foreign objects. 88 reports were received in the first 15 hours.

Specialized teams from the Defense Unit against Weapons of Mass Destruction were sent over to begin the field survey process to ensure that they were free of any chemical or radioactive traces that might harm citizens, environmental resources, and livestock.

A press conference was held shortly after the thwarting of the attack, in which Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Majid bin Mohammed Al-Ansari; Deputy Chief of Staff for Joint Operations H E Major General Shayeq Misfer Al Hajri; and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, Colonel Dr. Jabr Hamoud Jabr Al Naimi, answered questions from the local press.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence, in a joint statement, affirmed that life was going back to normal after Qatar's air defence systems successfully intercepted the missile attacks.

The Ministry of Interior also affirmed that the security situation in the country was stable, and that there was no cause for concern.
