The Occupation Forces Set Fire To Homes In The Nour Shams Refugee Camp And Continue Demolition Operations In The Tulkarm
On Sunday evening, Israeli occupation forces set fire to several homes in the Nour Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarm.
Local sources reported that the occupation forces burned a number of houses in the Al-Manshiya neighborhood of the camp amid a tight siege and continuous aggression for the 163rd consecutive day. Military vehicles and infantry units were widely deployed, using citizens' homes as military barracks after forcing residents to evacuate. Live fire was directed at anyone attempting to approach the camp.
In recent weeks, Nour Shams camp has suffered extensive demolitions targeting dozens of residential buildings, as part of an Israeli plan to demolish 106 buildings across the Tulkarm and Nour Shams camps. Of these, 48 buildings have been demolished in Nour Shams alone, causing widespread destruction and the opening of wide streets separating neighborhoods from one another.
Meanwhile, Israeli bulldozers continued demolition operations in the Tulkarm camp, which began last week at an accelerated pace, targeting more residential buildings.
This escalation in Tulkarm camp, now in its 176th consecutive day, is part of a new occupation plan to demolish 104 buildings comprising around 400 homes. This follows a series of demolitions in recent weeks affecting several neighborhoods within the camp, specifically Al-Murabba'a, Abu Al-Foul, Al-Shuhada, and Al-Hamam, resulting in thousands of families losing their homes.
The ongoing occupation escalation has led to the forced displacement of more than 5,000 families from the Tulkarm and Nour Shams camps - more than 25,000 people - and the complete destruction of over 600 buildings, with 2,573 homes partially damaged. The camp entrances remain closed off with barriers, turning them into lifeless zones, preventing residents from reaching their homes or checking on their properties, while live fire continues to target anyone approaching the area.
