Srinagar- In a first criminal case linked to the controversial Robust Secure Network (RSN) platform, authorities in Ganderbal have launched a massive crackdown, with approximately 4,500 accounts now under investigation for suspected financial irregularities.

A series of raids were conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) over the past few days, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal Khalil Poswal said. Each account holder will receive formal notices at their residences, requiring them to respond to allegations. The Income Tax Department is also expected to conduct parallel inquiries, with high-value transactions being closely monitored.

Authorities have urged the public to exercise extreme caution and not share personal or financial information with anyone.“Many young individuals are approaching elderly family members under false pretenses, collecting documents and claiming to be opening insurance policies. These are fraudulent activities-no such policies exist,” the SSP warned.

In a related development, another FIR was registered just three days ago. Investigations revealed the involvement of a key suspect who had previously organised the marriage of a person named Kangan and was allegedly recruiting young people into the gang.“Strict action will be taken against him,” the SSP said.

Authorities have appealed to families to closely monitor their children's activities.“Many youths are being misled into handing over money at home under the guise of 'investing.' These hidden or under-the-table investments are not only illegal but dangerous,” Poswal said. He cautioned that such cases often end tragically, including suicides, leaving law enforcement little room to intervene.
