Arab Parliament Condemns Escalating Israeli Attacks On Lebanon, Syria

Cairo, July 16 (Petra) – The Arab Parliament on Wednesday condemned renewed Israeli attacks on Syrian and Lebanese territories as "a flagrant violation" of the international law and a serious threat to the sovereignty of states and the stability of the entire region.
The continuation of the unacceptable attacks will only increase tension and instability in the region, it said in a statement, adding that the breaches are part of a systematic policy aimed at imposing a fait accompli by force, in total disregard for international legitimacy and relevant United Nations and Security Council resolutions.
The Arab Parliament reaffirmed its full support for Lebanon and Syria in protecting their sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of their citizens, calling on the international community to take urgent and immediate action to put an end to "this dangerous escalation."
The statement reiterated the Arab Parliament's rejection of actions that undermine the sovereignty of Arab states, stressing that regional security is only attainable through full adherence to international law, respect for the sovereignty of states, and non-interference in their internal affairs.
