Tourism Minister Meets Head Of Jordan Forum For Policy Dialogue

Amman, July 14 (Petra) – Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Lina Annab met Monday with Hameed Batayneh, president of the Jordan Forum for Policy Dialogue, along with several members of the forum's general assembly and board, to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation aimed at advancing tourism policymaking in the kingdom.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the outcomes of the National Tourism Conference held by the forum on June 14, 2025, under the theme "Green Jordan Innovation for Sustainability Developing Tourism as an Economic Lever."
Minister Annab affirmed Jordan's stability and safety despite regional challenges, noting that the country's rich and diverse tourism offerings rival those across the region. She stressed the importance of promoting this value to both local and international tourists.
Annab stated that efforts are underway to capitalize on the summer season by targeting new markets and diverse visitor segments, including Arab and Gulf tourists as well as Jordanians living abroad.
She also revealed a comprehensive tourism marketing plan that aligns with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, implemented by the Jordan Tourism Board, aimed at opening new markets and raising global awareness of Jordan's tourism product.
The minister highlighted ongoing work to enhance tourism-related technology, including virtual site tours, film tourism development, and improving visitor center infrastructure.
Batayneh expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Tourism and the Jordan Tourism Board for their instrumental support in ensuring the success of the recent conference. He praised the productive cooperation between stakeholders committed to supporting and revitalizing the tourism sector.
At the end of the meeting, Batayneh presented the forum's conference recommendations to the minister and awarded her a commemorative shield in appreciation of her continued support for the national tourism sector.
