3 Road Projects Executed In Ghazni City

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Construction work has been completed on three roads at a cost of 24 million afghanis in the capital of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Monday.

Speaking at a ceremony in this regard, Maulvi Fazl Ahmad Madani, technical officer of the Ghazni Municipality, said the roads were built at a total cost of 24 million afghanis, funded by the World Bank.

He explained that two of the roads were located in the 1st and 5th municipal districts of Ghazni city. Each road measures 600 metres in length and six metres in width, totalling 1,800 metres of concrete paving.

According to Madani, the projects were implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) within three months, generating employment for nearly 300 people.

Meanwhile, local residents expressed satisfaction with the completion of the roads and called on the authorities to undertake similar projects in other parts of the city.

Haji Tawab, a resident of Ghazni city, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the roads are key routes, used daily by thousands of commuters.

Last week, construction work was completed on three other roads in the provincial capital of the province.
