Xi honors Chinese martyrs in Japanese battle

(MENAFN) While on an inspection tour of Yangquan in northern China’s Shanxi Province on Monday, Chinese President Xi Jinping paid his respects to those who sacrificed their lives during a significant battle in China’s resistance against Japanese aggression.

At the monument square dedicated to the martyrs of the Hundred-Regiment Campaign, Xi presented a floral basket as a gesture of tribute. He later visited a memorial hall commemorating the campaign, which played a major role in the broader war effort against Japanese forces.

During his visit, Xi reflected on the historical role played by the Communist Party of China in leading both military personnel and civilians in their determined resistance. He was also briefed on the region’s ongoing efforts to preserve revolutionary history and foster the enduring spirit of resistance and patriotism among the local population.
