Dubai-Based Overseas Filipino Workers Can Now Verify Employment Contracts Online

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)

Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Dubai now have a faster and more convenient way to process their employment contract verification.

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on July 7 launched a new online system that allows OFWs to submit and verify their documents remotely - without having to visit the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Dubai in person.

Simplified process

Previously, OFWs had to submit their requirements online or via email but still needed to physically appear at the Philippine Consulate or MWO-Dubai to complete the verification. This required securing an appointment slot, which was often difficult to get, especially during peak travel seasons.

Now, with the launch of the pilot online verification system - developed in partnership with the DataFlow Group - the process has been simplified. OFWs can access the platform via href="" dataflowgrou and complete the entire verification remotely. The pilot will run for 30 days starting July 7.

The system will accept up to 200 applications per weekday from 8am to 11.59pm, with plans to expand this capacity depending on demand and evaluator availability.

How to apply

1. Access the Portal

Go to and click "Now Live" , or go directly to

2. Enter your email address

You'll receive a One-Time Password (OTP) for verification.

3. Verify OTP

Enter the OTP sent to your email to proceed.

4. Access the dashboard

After logging in, click 'Start Verification' on the dashboard.

5. Select country

Choose UAE as your application country, where the verification report is required.

6. Choose verification details

Use the dropdown menus to select the purpose of verification and verification category.

7. Upload documents

You'll be directed to a page to upload the required documents. You can choose to proceed immediately or complete it later.

Applicants can expect their verified contracts to be available within three working days. Once completed, workers can download both the verified contract and their Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) through href="" go .

This new system builds on Advisory No. 07, Series of 2025, which took effect on May 1 and introduced updated guidelines to improve service delivery. The revised process now offers two main options - online and in-person - and applies to OFWs holding visas from Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain, and Ras Al Khaimah.

Walk-in and special cases still supported

For those who prefer to walk in, or in cases where online submission isn't possible, manual verification at MWO-Dubai remains available. OFWs may visit the office one working day before their flight. Special scheduling provisions apply to those flying over the weekend or when the day before departure falls on a holiday.

Additionally, OFWs already in the Philippines who were unable to complete verification before leaving may authorise a representative to submit their documents in Dubai. These representatives will be allowed entry 1–3 days prior to the OEC appointment in the Philippines or 2–5 days before the worker's return flight to the UAE.

Why contract verification matters

Contract verification is an important requirement for OFWs planning to travel to the Philippines, as it is a prerequisite for obtaining the OEC - a document needed for re-entry into the UAE.

This process ensures that the employment contract reflects accurate job details, complies with UAE labour laws, and meets the minimum standards set by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). It also serves to protect Filipino workers from illegal recruitment, contract substitution, and unfair labour conditions.

Exceptions apply

While most OFWs may proceed with online contract verification, exceptions apply. To avoid delays or disapproval, ensure that you meet all the eligibility requirements and none of the disqualifying conditions apply to you.

You can not apply for online contract verification if:

  • You are not an employment visa holder (investor, partner, husband/ wife/dependent, student, visit visa, etc.)

  • Your basic salary is below Dh1,500.00

  • You are below 24 years old and working as a domestic worker

  • Your visa designation is categorised as seabased work (e.g., seaman, steward, deckhand, boat driver, boat captain, and the like)

  • You engaged in visa trading (you or someone else bought the visa for you)

  • You are a domestic worker but currently holding a company visa

  • You are not working in the company sponsoring your visa

  • You do not hold a legitimate freelance visa

  • Your company visa sponsor no longer exists (i.e., does not have an office or the like)

  • You are not receiving your salaries through Wages Protection System and/or directly to your bank account

  • Your company sponsor's licence has already expired

  • Your company sponsor has Mohre violation/s and/or is blocked in Mohre.
